Birth Freedom PA defends the right of individuals and families to choose their birth provider, model of care, and place of birth without unnecessary barriers.
We support the continued practice of traditional midwifery, a longstanding part of Pennsylvania’s history, and advocate for all birth workers to serve their communities fully, according to their training and tradition.
Advocacy and Support
Birth Freedom PA exists to protect and promote the right of every family to choose their maternity care provider, birth setting, and model of care. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement we work to preserve access to safe, informed, community-based birth options across Pennsylvania.
We gather and share research, birth data, legislative updates, and real stories from families and midwives to highlight the safety, value, and impact of community-based midwifery. By providing accurate information and meaningful resources, we help strengthen understanding of this essential model of care.
Every family deserves access to clear information and the confidence to make informed decisions about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. We provide educational resources, advocacy opportunities, and practical tools so families can stay informed, make their voices heard, and help protect birth choices for future generations.
About Us
Birth Freedom PA is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering families through access to information and resources related to community-based midwifery. We believe in supporting diverse childbirth choices and creating a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. Birth Freedom PA is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Birth Freedom PA are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution
